- Safety & Preparedness
To help you and your loved ones better prepare for emergencies, our Safety and Preparedness programs include classes in First Aid and CPR, Water Safety, Workplace Safety, Babysitter’s Training, as well as Disaster Training. Also find out how to get your own Disaster Supply Kit and other items that will help to ensure your family’s safety in an emergency.
- Disaster Services
SInce 1917, the American Red Cross has been assisting people affected by disasters in San Luis Obispo County. Thousands of volunteers and the generous financial contribution of the American people make the successful work of the Red Cross possible. Find out how you can help local victims of disasters by joining a Disaster Action Team or taking Disaster Training courses.
- Services to Armed Forces
Find out what free services are available to members of the Armed Services and their families. Both active duty and community-based military can count on the Red Cross to provide emergency communications, emergency financial assistance, counseling and aid in the field where Red Cross workers are deployed to serve with the U.S. Armed Forces.
- International Services
The American Red Cross sends hope and help in international crises such as earthquakes, hurricanes, famines, armed conflicts and many more. Acting globally, the American Red Cross touches lives locally. Find out about the International Red Cross Movement, the Geneva Conventions, and how American Red Cross helps across the globe.
- Youth Programs
American Red Cross Clubs are school-based organizations that are led and run by students. Clubs organize and participate in projects that benefit their communities, schools, homes and in some cases, the world. Find out about Red Cross Youth Clubs at Cal Poly and some local high schools.
